Texian Independence Project

Leon Waddy has been writing songs and playing music most of his life.  In his younger days, he played in the irreverent party-rock band, Skunkweed.  A few years ago he saw some regional success with the band, Poor J Brown.  Waddy currently plays with The Band Brackish but his true passion has always been songwriting.  Waddy has written songs for other artists and has songs featured on the show Duck Dynasty and several Netflix shows and movies.  

After moving to New Braunfels in the summer of 2024, he started spending a ton of time at Beagles Nest Studios.  This music school and recording studio owned by multi-instrumentalist Matthew Briggs was the perfect place to turn Waddy's latest vision into a reality.  With the help of Zack Walther and a plethora of local talent they started producing songs Waddy has been holding on to for years.  The connective thread has always been Texas, and that theme is evident in all the music.  

For the art, Waddy collaborated with local artist Sarah Heinbaugh.  The goal for all of the album art is to have a standalone painting that was worthy of hanging on your living room wall.  Sarah has created some one-of-a-kind, imaginative pieces with more to come.
